Question Category : Limb deformities
I've had knocked knees since, I was about 3. I am now 14 turning 15 and my knees have deter rated. I went to a doctor yesterday who suggested to have an operation where they make a small incision and staple the bone to reshape the growth of the knee. Do you think it's worth a shot or a complete waste of time

Question Category : Limb deformities
My questions are at the bottom of this text. I am 22 years of age and I have knocked knees (K legs). I notice that I had k legs, when I was between the ages of 10-11, and it really bothered me, even up till now . But I never did anything about it. When I was less than 10yrs old, my legs were perfect, my knees and my ankles could touch ( I have pictures as proof), but as I grew older, I just do not know what went wrong. I heard my grandmother had K legs and my cousin told me she had k legs as a child. But still, I do not think that would be the cause of mine. I have seen a doctor about my knees before, because I started having pains at the side of my knees, where each knocked knees meet. I was told to take an x-ray of my knees. Though I never really followed up with the results, my doctor told me nothing was wrong and recommended me to see an orthopedic I believe, but I just never followed up. My Questions
1) Since I am 22 years old, is it too late to use orthopedic appliances such as knee braces etc to correct my knocked knees?
2) If it is too late for orthopedic appliances, will surgery be an option, and will it be risky?
3) If I have a surgery, will I have problems with my knees as I age?
4) Will I have scars on my knees after the surgery?
5) If there are scars, are the scars forever? If not how long are the scars for? Please feel free to make any suggestions or recommendations. I will really appreciate a response from someone as soon as possible. Thank you

I was walking with my 2 1/2 yr. old grand daughter on the other day. We probably went half a mile, when she got tired and asked me to carry her. She then said "my leg hurts, it is rubbery and flippy." She also craves salt. Is this anything to worry about?
